Cell C ‘anti-red’ campaign

Cell C has followed up their ‘beware of red’ campaign with a hard hitting Trevor Noah television ad aimed at Vodacom
Cell C launched their ‘beware of red’ online search advertising campaign shortly after Vodacom unveiled its new red branding last week (Vodacom red branding images here).
The Cell C text ad campaign included ‘warnings’ like “Red means Stop”, “Stay out of the Red” and “Are you seeing Red”, poking fun at Vodacom’s slogans like “Red is more” and “Red is faster”.
Cell C is however not limiting the campaign to online text ads and they have now branched out to include their well known customer experience officer Trevor Noah.  The Noah video advertisement again takes a dig at Vodacom’s red rebranding.
“Recently a 17 year old cell network changed their colors.  Nice.  But what is actually under the hood,” asks Trevor Noah walking around a blue and red car.
“The engine that drives Cell C is its leading and completely new HSPA+ 900 MHz network – voted best in the country.  Cause it takes more than a lick of paint to be SA’s number 1 network … don’t you think,” says Noah standing next to a shiny black Ferrari.
